Fossil Butte National Monument
Visit "America's aquarium in stone" to witness hundreds of fossilized insects, plants, reptiles, birds, and mammals. While you’re here, you’ll also enjoy this park’s great hikes.
Fossil Safari at Warfield Fossil Quarries
After you visit the national monument, take part digging in our quarry and splitting the rock to find numerous quantities of fossil fish.

Fish fossils from Ulrich’s quarry reside in museums worldwide, yet they are also available for sale to the public, in fossil preparation kit form, or as a dig-your-own adventure.
JC Penney (Mother) Store
Penney opened the first store here in Kemmerer on April 14, 1902. Shop at this historic store, and take a look at some of the historic memorabilia on display.
Fossil hunters can lease their own slice of quarry by the hour or for the entire fossil hunting season in the Fossil Lake section of the Green River Formation. You can even keep what you find!
Fossil Country Frontier Museum
Learn about the natural and cultural history of South Lincoln County and southwestern Wyoming. This museum also has affordable rental space for group events.
